Career Counselors make a difference in recovery by assessing and teaching vocational skills, coaching, and motivating individuals to achieve their goals, and facilitating groups to assist individuals in career exploration, college planning, locating employment, and integrating career objectives with their current mental health and substance recovery programs.
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in human service related field
- Two years’ paid human service experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- NYS motor vehicle license, safe driving record and availability of personal vehicle for work
- Licensure or certification in human services (preferred but not required)
- Qualified Mental Health Staff as defined by OMH Residential regulations required for work with OMH licensed programs
