Job Description
Easterseals Academy is seeking a Special Education Teacher to provide a therapeutic learning environment for students with autism spectrum disorder, emotional disability, developmental delay, or intellectual disability. This role involves classroom leadership, curriculum development, IEP implementation, data collection, and collaboration with school staff and parents. The position is located at the Machesney Park Campus of Easterseals Academy in Machesney Park, IL.
Requirements
- Develop weekly lesson plans in alignment with student IEP goals.
- Work with paraprofessional staff to support students in their IEP goals.
- Provide data-based progress reports and IEP benchmarks.
- Participate in IEP/MDC meetings and reviews.
- Supervise and mentor classroom and 1:1 aides.
- Engage in professional development, including needs assessments and training.
- Adhere to all mandatory reporting and OIG guidelines.
