The Diagnostic Medical Sonography Instructor is responsible for ensuring the fulfillment of educational goals and objectives within the classroom, teaching, guiding, and evaluating student learning experiences, and promoting student engagement and competency development.
Requirements
- Select, teach, guide, and evaluate all learning experiences in the classroom environment.
- Demonstrate knowledge of program and course goals, and develop organized plans for instruction and evaluation.
- Teach assigned courses in accordance with the approved curriculum.
- Supervise and instruct students during clinical rotations and laboratory activities.
- Maintain accurate records of student grades and attendance and submit required documentation to the Registrar in a timely manner.
- Establish, post, and maintain office hours and makeup time schedules.
- Serve as a consultant and advisor to current and prospective students.
- Assist with student registration and orientation activities.
- Participate in ongoing student assessment and collaborate with the Program Director on student support and problem-solving.
- Support student lifecycle activities, including recruitment, admissions, retention, withdrawal, and graduation.
- Attend and participate in professional meetings, conferences, workshops, and continuing professional development activities.
- Attend meetings of the Diagnostic Medical Sonography faculty and Program Advisory Committee and serve on committees as appointed or elected.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director, Director of Education, or Campus Director.
