Assists in the preparation and service of food and performs cleaning tasks to maintain kitchen and dining rooms in a sanitary condition. Participates in preparing food for outside events and activities to promote the facility.
Requirements
- Public Relations: Participates in preparation of food for outside events, ensures snacks are available for guests, and represents the facility in a positive manner.
- Residents: Assures nutritionally related needs of residents are met, encourages and supports residents' rights, and maintains confidentiality.
- Operations: Assists in food preparation and serving tasks, performs cleaning tasks, and attends in-service training programs.
- Budget: Participates in controlling costs through proper equipment use and effective organization of duties.
- Building: Reports safety and environmental hazards, maintains a clean environment, and participates in disaster plans.
- Employees: Maintains open communication with departments, reports to work on time, and follows established ergonomics policies.
- Able to follow written and oral instructions, good physical and mental health, able to work in a geriatric setting, and able to work independently and as a team.
- Knowledge of dietary procedures, able to work tactfully, pleasantly, and friendly with residents, staff, and guests.
