Welder 1st Shift at Emerson, responsible for using Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding to fabricate products from blueprints, with attention to detail to meet and exceed customer expectations. Requires 1-year experience MIG Welding in Production setting, ability to read and follow welding symbols on blueprints, and ability to communicate effectively and work in a cooperative manner.
Requirements
- Adjust welder settings based on metallurgical properties of metal used in blueprint to ensure quality welds
- Work from blueprints, to set up and weld parts using appropriate fixtures
- Operate hand grinders as needed
- Visually inspect work and fixturing on an on-going basis to check quality standards and the appearance of the product
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 70lbs
- Ability to do other duties as assigned
- High School Diploma, GED, or demonstrated ability to read, write, and perform mathematical calculations at a high school level
- Ability to read and follow welding symbols on blueprints
- Ability to communicate effectively and work in a cooperative manner to support a team environment
