We are seeking a full-time Assistant Professor in Education (Social Emotional Learning, Special Education) to teach required social emotional learning courses and develop special topics courses. The successful candidate will also advise students, participate in accreditation processes, and engage in professional scholarship or development.
Requirements
- PhD /Ed. D required
- Prior higher education experience preferred
- Five years in public school teaching experience preferred
- Primary expertise in special education
- Ability to supervise students in the field
- Actively pursuing professional and/or academic scholarship
- Demonstrated ability to mentor students
- Previous experience in assessing quality teaching and learning
- Previous experience in mentoring teacher candidates or teachers
- Knowledge of Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education licensure regulations
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with a range of stakeholders
- Familiarity with online course platforms, LMS, data systems
- Familiarity with Google Suite including Calendar, Sheets, Docs, and Folders
