Job Description
This internship provides hands-on experience in controls engineering, including developing and validating power plant control systems, creating models for hardware-in-the-loop simulators, and testing control functions. The internship is based in Houston, TX and spans three months. The intern will report to the Controls Engineering Director and will be exposed to advanced power system modeling, control logic testing, and real-world applications in renewable energy integration.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field
- Knowledge of PSCAD for power system models
- Experience with programming languages such as CodeSys, MATLAB, Simulink, or Python
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to take initiative and ownership of tasks
Benefits
- Hourly Range: $28.50 – 35.50 USD hourly
- 20–30 hours per week part-time schedule
