Intern, I&C Engineering

The Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Engineering Intern at University of Iowa will support ENGIE’s Central Capex and Major Partnerships Team, working on technical engineering measures for The University of Iowa’s District Energy System. The intern will assist in consolidating I&C project data, collaborating on design meetings, and attending to other work assignments. The ideal candidate has an interest in obtaining practical experience in Industrial Control Systems within energy infrastructure.

Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled as a student at University of Iowa
• Minimum of two (2) years of completed course work within Industrial Automation or Electrical and Computer Engineering or equivalent degree program required
• GPA of 2.5 or higher
• Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD), preferably AutoCAD software
• Experience with reviewing technical engineering drawings, plans, and specifications
• Proficient with engineering economics and cost estimating
• Basic understanding of electrical circuits and instrumentation including knowledge of sensors, transducers, and signal types (voltage, current loops)
• Familiarity with PID concepts, feedback loops, and simple system behavior
• Ability to create or modify basic ladder logic and perform simple troubleshooting

• Hourly Range: $22.50 – 25.50 USD hourly
