Responsible for developing, building and maintaining relationships with military installations, military spouse programs and other community partners. Provide employment assistance to military spouses who are experiencing challenges or who need to obtain new skills to compete in the job market
Requirements
- Develop, build and maintain relationships with military installations, military spouse programs and other community partners
- Provide employment assistance to military spouses who are experiencing challenges or who need to obtain new skills to compete in the job market
- Manage a caseload of participants and provide counseling and mentoring
- Assess participant competencies, work history, educational attainment, skills, and abilities
- Identify challenges to finding employment and prompt participants to find solutions
- Conduct regular ongoing individual meetings with participants for job search, education, job retention, and/or job readiness
- Complete an individualized overview of available services and work with participant to create an employment plan for short- and long-term goals
- Ensure participant accountability and attendance; track and maintain employment retention goals
- Assume central responsibility for participants achieving self-sufficiency by monitoring progress throughout the program cycle
- Prepare, organize, and maintain accurate, updated information in both electronic and paper participant files
- Provide case management with a focus on helping customers to prepare for employment that leads to self-sufficiency
- Facilitate customer access to training, education, and to employment services, as well as job-specific information
- Display the ability to work with a variety of cultures, languages, educational and economic backgrounds in a classroom setting
- Assist job seekers in registering in the state's online job matching site and provide technical assistance in using the job matching system
- Use the Internet, career exploration and resume software as well as other software and resource materials to assist customers with their job search efforts
- Provide customers with information and referrals to the labor market, local workforce system programs, education and training activities
- Disseminate information about available services
