Advanced Manufacturing Design Engineer

ERMCO is seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Design Engineer to lead projects from concept to implementation, drive technology integration, and partner with cross-functional teams to execute strategic manufacturing initiatives. The role involves hands-on manufacturing engineering with advanced project leadership, driving technology integration, leading complex process design efforts, and partnering closely with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering discipline, and 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.

Requirements

• Lead advanced manufacturing projects from concept through implementation
• Create detailed 3D and 2D models, tooling designs, jigs, fixtures, and complete equipment using Inventor or comparable CAD platforms
• Develop PFMEAs, control plans, process flow diagrams, and work instructions that support stable, repeatable operations
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to troubleshoot process variation and drive root-cause problem solving
• Implement Lean, Six Sigma, and automation solutions to reduce waste, improve first-pass yield, and enhance throughput
• Support equipment specification, vendor evaluation, CAPEX justification, and installation of new automation, robotics, and advanced manufacturing systems
• Integrate Industry 4.0 solutions such as machine data collection, MES enhancements, and IoT-enabled predictive maintenance
• Partner with supply chain to mitigate material risk, qualify alternate components, and evaluate manufacturability of sourced parts
• Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and environmental standards throughout all manufacturing processes
• Provide coaching and technical mentorship to engineering and production team members
