Surgery Veterinary Technician

Pet Emergency & Referral Center is looking to add a Veterinary Technician to their Surgery team. The ideal candidate will be a compassionate veterinary technician with surgery and anesthesia experience, who thrives in an environment where their contributions make a meaningful impact. They will be responsible for assisting in managing cases, collaborating closely with surgeons, and providing empathy, comfort, and unparalleled nursing care to patients.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years working as a veterinary technician, preferably in specialty medicine with a focus on surgery, specialty surgery, anesthesia, and emergency
• LVT or CVT is preferred, but not required
• An understanding of all basic veterinary knowledge, including triage, restraint, diagnostic imaging, venipuncture, phlebotomy, laboratory equipment and procedures, etc.
• Experience planning, monitoring, managing and recovering anesthesia patients for a variety of abdominal, thoracic, orthopedic, and minimally invasive procedures, surgical prepping and positioning
• Knowledge of common surgical instruments and their uses and experience calculating and administering CRI medications appropriately
• Attention to detail, with strong communication skills with both clients and team members
• Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) are required for the role; fluency in multiple languages a plus
