As a patent examiner at the European Patent Office, you will evaluate whether inventions meet the criteria for patent protection, support innovations, and shape the future. Requirements

• examine patent applications in one of our official languages (German, English, or French)
• analyze new inventions to evaluate their novelty and inventive activity
• conduct in-depth research in scientific and technical fields to identify the most relevant state of the art
• apply legal and procedural frameworks to make well-informed and high-quality decisions about whether a patent should be granted
• communicate your findings clearly and constructively to applicants and other parties
• collaborate with international colleagues in a diverse and inclusive environment
• maintain high-quality standards with a focus on attention to detail and scientific rigor
