The Plant Engineer is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant processes, equipment, and infrastructure. This role combines technical engineering expertise with handsâon problemâsolving to improve production performance, reduce downtime, and maintain compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
Requirements
- Monitor plant processes and equipment performance; identify and implement improvements.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, process, and instrumentation issues to minimize downtime.
- Provide engineering support to daily operations, ensuring production goals are met safely and efficiently.
- Support reliability initiatives, equipment upgrades, and long-term asset health strategies.
- Lead or support small- to midâscale capital projects, from scope development through commissioning.
- Prepare technical specifications, evaluate vendors, and oversee installation of equipment.
- Ensure projects meet safety, quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
- Participate in process safety activities (MOC, PHA/HAZOP, risk assessments).
- Support development and review of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintenance procedures.
- Analyze production data to identify opportunities for optimization and cost reduction.
- Implement solutions to improve throughput, energy efficiency, reliability, and product quality.
- Contribute to continuous improvement programs such as Lean, Six Sigma, or RCM.
