Collections Specialist

The Collections Specialist is responsible for collections of outstanding accounts receivable dollars from insurance payers, including following up with payers, reviewing explanations of benefits, and analyzing issues causing payment delays.

Requirements

• Follow-up with payers to ensure timely resolution of all outstanding claims
• Review and understand explanation of benefits, and/or remittances
• Utilize specialized knowledge of contracts, regulatory or contractual billings guidelines
• Analyze, identify and resolve issues causing payer payment delays
• Identify root causes for claim denials, underpayments and document the action taken
• Communicate with AR Director and Team Lead in identification and resolution of denial trends
• Prioritize workflow and work within deadlines
• Meet productivity and quality standards as set by management
