Job Description
Excel Academy is seeking a Founding School Nurse to support the development and management of the school's health program. The ideal candidate will have a BSN or RN with experience in public health nursing, school health nursing, or pediatric nursing. The role requires a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and a strong understanding of the cultures and languages of the communities served. The Founding School Nurse will establish and manage a comprehensive school health program, collaborate with other professionals, and provide health education and promotion to students and families.
Requirements
- Must hold a BSN or RN with a Bachelor's degree in a related discipline
- Must have RIDE certification for the role or be willing to apply for certification
- Minimum of 1 year experience in public health nursing, community health nursing, school health nursing, or pediatric nursing
- Familiarity with insulin administration and/or Hoyer lift preferred, or a willingness to learn
