Job Description
Excel Engineering is seeking an Automation Engineer for its Life Sciences division in Mounds View, MN. This role involves independently and in a team, delivering engineered industrial control & automation solutions to clients. The engineer will work closely with various teams to support capital and operational improvements.
Requirements
- Understand client manufacturing processes
- Develop functional specification and design specification documents
- Create PLC programs, HMI applications, and batch recipes
- Perform control system validation
- Develop project scopes and estimates
- Specify, configure, and commission variable frequency drives (VFDs)
- Design network layout and analyze data traffic
- Perform calculations for power, heat dissipation, wire sizing, fusing, and other activities
- Delegate and assign work to team members
- Travel up to 25%
