Job Description
As a Peer Support Specialist at Excelsior Wellness, you play a crucial role in our mission to promote mental, emotional, and physical well-being in the community, providing peer support, empathy, and encouragement to individuals experiencing mental health or substance use issues.
Requirements
- Lived experience with mental health or substance use challenges and a strong commitment to recovery.
- Completion of a recognized Peer Support Specialist training program or certification preferred (or within 90 days)
- Strong communication and active listening skills.
- Empathy and the ability to build trust with clients.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with clinical and counseling professionals.
- Dedication to breaking down stigma surrounding mental health and substance use
