Job Description
ExxonMobil is seeking an Optimization Scientist to design, implement, and scale advanced optimization solutions across domains such as supply chain, commercial operations, and trading. The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline, and 2+ years of experience in designing and deploying mathematical optimization models.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline
- 2+ years of experience in designing and deploying mathematical optimization models
- Expertise in linear, mixed-integer programming, optimization under uncertainty (stochastic/robust optimization), algorithm development including decomposition for large-scale optimization
- Strong programming skills in Python or similar languages, with experience using solvers like Gurobi/CPLEX
- Understanding of cloud-based architecture solutions for large-scale optimization
- Strong communication skills with ability to communicate technical details to non-technical business partners
- Strong strategic mindset with the ability to drive large-scale initiatives
- Proven ability to influence and engage with cross-functional teams and leadership
