Job Description
We are seeking a Peer Support Specialist to provide peer support to individuals in our community who are facing mental health or substance abuse challenges. The ideal candidate will have a history of managing their own illness and be an active member in a consumer advocacy or self-help group. They will provide individual ongoing coaching, show people how to use community resources, and collaborate with others involved in the client's recovery plan.
Requirements
- History of managing one's own mental health or substance abuse illness
- Active membership in a consumer advocacy or self-help group
- Past experience working directly with people in a service-oriented field
- Peer Support Certified
- Valid driver's license
- Auto insurance
- CPR/First aid certification
- Background check and finger printing
