Mechanical Technician

Fermilab is seeking a Senior Mechanical Technician to fabricate, assemble, install and remove mechanical parts, vacuum systems and devices, and perform ESH&Q duties.

Requirements

• High school degree (or technical certificate or equivalent) plus 7+ years of extensive related experience or 5+ years' experience at a DOE laboratory or in a technical skill of strategic importance to the Lab's mission
• Ability to lift to 50 pounds, work at heights up to 10-feet, and in confined spaces
• Demonstrated ability to fabricate, assemble, install and remove a variety of mechanical and vacuum systems and its parts
• Proficiency in working in a Windows PC environment, and with MS Word and Excel applications
• Ability to write standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work cooperatively in a team environment
