Technician I

Fermilab’s Particle Physics Division (PPD) is seeking a full-time Mechanical Technician I to join the team. The role involves providing routine technical support for an assigned area, typically an experimental or support group. The technician will work with scientists, engineers, and technical staff to build precision microelectronics-based detectors for physics research.

Requirements

• High School diploma (or technical certificate or equivalent). Relevant experience preferred.
• Ability to work with epoxies, solvents, and other chemicals.
• Ability to lift 20-pound components and perform field work in outdoor weather conditions.
