Job Description
The Substation Design Engineer will create and manage engineering designs, equipment, and standards for the Substation Engineering group. The role will work with a team of engineers, survey crews, and drafters to design substation projects, ensuring safety and accuracy. The engineer will also provide technical support to Substation and Transmission personnel, Real Estate, Project Management, and Construction crews.
Requirements
- Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an ABET accredited institution
- Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred
- Minimum of 2 (two) years of Engineering experience
- Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Certificate Preferred
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain relationships across FE, with outside firms and manufacturers
- Ability to make practical decisions without undue delay and based on the best information available at the time that the decision must be made
- Strong organizational, computer, and problem-solving skills
- Self-directed and not dependent on detailed instruction from others
