Mechanical Engineer

Develop detailed design drawings from engineering data with minimal supervision, providing supporting analysis and documentation as required. Design tasks include creating 2D layouts or 3D models from sketches and engineering data to determine size, shape and arrangement of components; also defining part requirements including dimensions, tolerances, finishes, material and clearance. Perform analysis to support design as required to complete assigned tasks or resolve technical issues.

Requirements

• Capable of developing original design concepts based upon sound engineering principles with minimal guidance.
• 2D drafting package and 3D modeling package, preferably Solidworks
• Experience with materials, manufacturing processes, design for manufacturing, and PLM/configuration control.
• Strong communication skills when discussing technical topics with coworkers.
• Ability to collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team
• Ability to prioritize tasks in support of production schedules.
• Microsoft Office suite.
• Stress or vibrational analysis (FEA) would be an advantage.
