The Academic Advisor I advises students concerning their academic plans and progress, academic schedule, choice of major, and other academic activities and career goals, to assist the students in making decisions concerning personal educational goals leading to graduation.
Requirements
- Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization
- Experience operating a personal computer and proficient with Microsoft Office
- Experience delivering student programming (such as workshops and orientation)
- Knowledge of theoretical models of college student development and students in transition
- Knowledge of advising theory and models of development advising
- Knowledge of state statutes and rules of higher education within the state of Florida
