Job Description
Performs all night sleep studies, Multiple Sleep Latency Testing, Maintenance of Wakefulness Test, scores sleep studies, and assists in training and orientation of new employees and PSG trainees.
Requirements
- Perform Multiple Sleep Latency Testing, Maintenance of Wakefulness Test, and other types of sleep studies
- Calibrate monitors and accessory parameters prior to sleep study
- Administer Continuous Positive Airway Pressure on patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnea
- Follow Oxygen administration according to policy
- Analyze patients medical record to obtain an informative history
- Set up patients for test by placing electrodes using the 10/20 International System of measurement
- Instruct and inform patient of test procedure
- Assist with maintenance of department equipment and supplies
- Maintain department records, reports, and files as required
- Be certified in basic CPR
- Score sleep studies and MSLTs using R&K criteria
- Assist director with support groups and public education in sleep disorders
