Job Description
The Surgical Technologist 2 prepares and maintains medical equipment for surgical procedures, follows hospital regulations, and performs pre-operation preparations.
Requirements
- Ensure proper equipment, instruments, and supplies are provided for procedures and specialty areas.
- Follow proper sterile techniques and maintain a sterile field at all times.
- Provide assistance to the circulating RN with procedure/patient preparation.
- Assist in the positioning of patients as needed.
- Follow AORN guidelines at all times.
- Actively respond to emergency situations and/or trauma procedures in the OR.
- Serves as preceptor for new team members.
