The Network Operations Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex network infrastructure priority 1 and 2 incidents. This role ensures high availability, security, and scalability of the organization’s network to support business operations efficiently.
Requirements
- Design and deploy LAN, WAN, WLAN, and SD-WAN solutions to ensure seamless connectivity.
- Implement and configure hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load-balancers.
- Optimize network infrastructure for high availability and redundancy.
- Deploy cloud network solutions in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud (if applicable).
- Implement firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS) to enhance security.
- Enforce network security policies, access controls, and encryption standards.
- Assist in security audits compliance and vulnerability remediation.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards such as PCI DSS, ISO 27001, NIST, and GDPR.
- Monitor network performance using tools like Solarwind, Entuity, Live Action
- Diagnose and resolve complex escalated issues.
- Perform capacity planning and network optimization to meet growing business requirements.
- Analyze network traffic and performance metrics to optimize infrastructure and enhance service delivery.
- Develop and maintain network documentation, diagrams, and SOPs in the GNS wiki.
- Work closely with cross-functional IT teams (Server, Voice, Security).
- Lead network-related activities and projects.
