Job Description
As a Traffic Engineer, the selected candidate will oversee implementation of traffic control design and strategies for projects, adhering to national and state standards, and provide technical expertise and guidance on traffic control strategies.
Requirements
- Conduct field reviews and recommend appropriate traffic control measures during project construction
- Operate personal vehicle to evaluate project traffic control setups in the field
- Independently provide technical expertise and guidance on traffic control strategies
- Ensure project traffic control adheres to agency policies, MUTCD standards, and engineering principles
- Analyze and evaluate proposals for traffic control revisions and detours
- Coordinate closures effectively with other projects and local agencies to avoid conflicts
- Thoroughly analyze and evaluate submitted traffic control plans, detours, and staging plans
- Analyze roadway capacity and develop closure restrictions for holidays and special events
- Provide feedback to Project Management and Field Teams in regards to RFIs and potential changes needed in Traffic Control Plan
