The Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT offers the opportunity to write a thesis on AI-based process development of extreme high-speed laser cladding. The position is limited in duration until completion of the thesis.

Requirements

• Technical or scientific degree program such as mechanical engineering, materials science, or computer science
• Interest in technical problems in application-oriented research
• Responsible, independent, and structured approach to work
• Prior knowledge in the field of additive manufacturing, laser technology, or programming (NC, Python, C, etc.) is desirable but not essential
