Job Description
Fresha, a leading marketplace platform for beauty and wellness, is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join their Platform and Infrastructure Engineering Team. The role focuses on enhancing the development lifecycle by building simple, composable components, ensuring adoption is optional but valuable, and investing in both knowledge and automation. The team aims to improve reliability, security, speed, and cost-effectiveness. The ideal candidate will have experience in software development, strong opinions, and a passion for continuous improvement within a microservices and distributed systems environment. Fresha fosters a collaborative environment requiring 4 days per week in the office and 1 day remote.
Requirements
- Have experience in software development
- Demonstrate strong opinions and actively contribute ideas, driving discussions and solutions.
- Are deeply passionate about their work and proactively challenge existing processes to foster continuous improvement.
- Experience working with microservices and distributed systems at scale
- Have experience with working on cross-team projects
- Have AWS experience, we use EKS, RDS, S3, Cloudfront and MSK extensively
- Have an understanding of SLIs, SLOs & SLAs
- Knowledge of platform and ops concepts such as networking and Linux administration
- Experience with monitoring tools: we use Datadog, Grafana, ELK, Sentry and OpsGenie.
