Activities Assistant

Founded in 1966, Friendship offers diverse senior living accommodations, award-winning care, new and innovative services, as well as specialized rehab and therapy, to over 1,500 residents and patients each day. We are looking for an Activities Assistant to join our Friendship Health and Rehab South team, located in Roanoke, VA.

Requirements

• Leads or assists with group activities under the supervision of the Director
• Provides and plans activities for each individual to include music, sensory stimulation, touch and tactile therapy, reminiscent and cognitive therapy, spiritual activities, arts, crafts, games, exercises, horticulture, pet therapy, and field trips
• Maintains good attendance and arrives/departs work at the scheduled time
• Supervises volunteers as needed or as deemed necessary by the Activities Director
• Arranges and sets up designated rooms and areas for scheduled activities
• Receives, stores, issues and cleans specified equipment for scheduled activities, keeping within guidelines with infection control policies
