The Production/Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for designing and developing new fuel cell manufacturing processes/equipment, implementing automation and productivity gains, and partnering with other members of the Value Stream Team to develop and implement process requirements to continuously improve safety, cost, quality, production capacity, and process yields.
Requirements
- Supports the research, design, development, and implementation of new or improved manufacturing production processes
- Manages new equipment projects from specification development through implementation
- Champions continuous improvement projects aimed to reduce costs, improve part quality, or improve process ergonomics
- Reviews and analyzes process data to help increase yields and look for root cause of issues that occur in production
- Acts as a manufacturing liaison to Design Engineering and R&D
- Coordinates and participates in product and process development trials on the production floor
- Reviews and approves engineering drawings and material specifications
- Generating work instructions and Operational Control plans for shop the shop floor
- Supports safety assessments equipment and assembly processing with knowledge of NFPA codes and OSHA regulations
