The Behavioral Intervention Aide will assist in academic and behavior support duties to individual or small groups of students within the regular classroom and other school settings.
Requirements
- Work with scholars in small groups or in one-to-one assignments to reinforce or follow up on behavioral consequences, learning activities, or intervention plans
- Assist in the implementation of behavior intervention plans
- Facilitate and support social interactions and foster the development of positive relationships between scholars
- Assist all scholars by modeling appropriate behavior and attitudes and providing emotional support and general guidance
- Collect information on scholar progress through observation, daily contact, and maintenance of accurate data trackers, and progress records/logs
- Administer disciplinary consequences as directed by the Dean of School Culture
- Supervise scholars during cool downs, classroom removal, in school suspension, lunch detention, after school detention and other assigned consequences
- Effectively deescalate behavioral issues and outburts, remain calm and firm with scholars, and communicate effectively with scholars, staff and parents
- Support the operations team with clerical tasks, setup, and office duties as assigned
