Job Description
The Residential Counselor I will maintain a therapeutic environment within the residence, meeting the needs of clients in areas such as safety, medical, emotional, food, clothing, and shelter.
Requirements
- Attend scheduled clinical and staff meetings
- Maintain client records in accordance with standard format and timetables
- Represent the dignity of each individual through promotion of human and civil rights
- Assist members daily in the enhancement of their ADL skills
- Promote the rights of people with developmental/intellectual disabilities to exercise choice and make meaningful decisions
- Provide appropriate responses to emergency situations
- Provide case management, outreach, and advocacy to members
- Develop strong, supportive relationships with individuals
- Provide for individual care and safety, and observe all safety measures
