Job Description
The Garvan Institute of Medical Research is seeking a Research Assistant to join the Deveson Lab, which aims to develop and validate new technologies and methods for genomic medicine. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling long-read sequencing projects and will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies from Oxford Nanopore and PacBio.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in molecular biology or related sciences
- Competent computer skills (Excel, Word & PowerPoint)
- Strong attention to detail, level of accuracy and ability to follow protocols.
- Knowledge of molecular biology and/or experience in a molecular biology laboratory environment.
- Excellent organisational, record-keeping, and time management skills.
- Competent report writing and communication skills.
