Job Description
The Garvan Institute of Medical Research seeks a Senior Research Officer to lead the next phase of their causal target validation program. The successful candidate will take discoveries from statistical association to mechanistic validation, designing and executing experimental strategies to define causal genes, pathways, and regulatory mechanisms. The role is ideally suited to a scientist who is excited to turn large-scale genomic insights into new biological understanding and actionable therapeutic opportunities.
Requirements
- PhD in immunology, functional genomics, molecular biology, or a related discipline
- Deep knowledge of human immune cell biology
- Hands-on experience with immune functional assays
- Ability to design mechanistic experiments
- Familiarity with single-cell genomics, genome engineering, and high-throughput molecular profiling
