The EC Teacher - General Curriculum is responsible for providing special education services to students with disabilities, developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), and adapting materials to meet student needs. The teacher will also be responsible for monitoring student progress, maintaining records, and communicating with parents and other professionals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education from a Regionally Accredited College or University
- Licensure in Special Education/General Curriculum (88091) or eligibility for licensure
- Ability to use a variety of equipment and classroom tools
- Ability to exert a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
- Ability to constantly monitor the safety and well-being of students
- Ability to motivate students
- Ability to maintain a clean and orderly environment
- Ability to perform general clerical duties
- Ability to maintain order and discipline in a classroom
- Ability to operate common office machines
- Ability to maintain basic files and records
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Ability to read a variety of correspondence, reports, handbooks, forms, lists, etc.
- Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking
- Ability to record and deliver information, explain procedures, to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions
