Job Description
A newly established start-up based in Silicon Valley is seeking a Research Scientist Intern to join their team of visionary scientists, engineers, and entrepreneurs. The company is dedicated to transforming biology and medicine through generative AI, pioneering pan-modal Large Biological Models (LBM) and developing groundbreaking advancements in healthcare. The intern will conduct cutting-edge AI and computational biology research, improving existing models and exploring new methodologies to advance the company's AI capabilities in biology.
Requirements
- M.S. or Ph.D. student (or equivalent expertise) in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or related field
- Skilled in developing, implementing, and debugging deep learning methods/models using JAX, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
- Strong theoretical foundation (statistics, optimization, graph theory, linear algebra)
- Passion for interdisciplinary research (AI and Biology)
- Motivated and self-driven with the ability to operate with partial descriptions of objectives
- Familiarity with software engineering best practices (version control, documentation)
