Outside Machinist (Repair)

Installs, maintains, and repairs ship's main propulsion and auxiliary systems, fluid systems, and performs other related tasks.

Requirements

• High school or equivalent education preferred
• Minimum three years in related experience or three years in any of the following U. S. Navy ratings: MM, En, BT or MR
• Training in machine shop, hardware alignment, and blueprint reading
• Good mechanical skills
• Ability to use hand tools and to read technical manuals
• Good knowledge of ship layout
• Ability to work at heights and confined spaces, access and move around ships safely
