Installs, maintains, and repairs ship's main propulsion and auxiliary systems, fluid systems, and performs other related tasks.
Requirements
- High school or equivalent education preferred
- Minimum three years in related experience or three years in any of the following U. S. Navy ratings: MM, En, BT or MR
- Training in machine shop, hardware alignment, and blueprint reading
- Good mechanical skills
- Ability to use hand tools and to read technical manuals
- Good knowledge of ship layout
- Ability to work at heights and confined spaces, access and move around ships safely
