Job Description
The SUMMER INTERN - Metallurgical Engineer position is a paid internship that provides real-world experience and a competitive edge upon graduation. Key responsibilities include preparing metallographic samples, performing investigations and failure analysis, and utilizing optical and scanning electron microscopy to evaluate metallurgical features.
Requirements
- Must have completed 90 or more credit hours by the end of the spring 2026 semester
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.7
- Must be a full-time student attending an accredited two-year or four-year college/university
- Preferred majors: Materials Science & Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or Metallurgy
- Must be legally authorized to work at a company in the U.S. or Canada without sponsorship
- Problem solving skills
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong communication, presentation, and team skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Self-motivated with a high level of initiative, able to work well independently
