The Trading & Marketing Representative is responsible for assisting in the execution of retail paving asphalt, wholesale asphalt, VGO, and various other refined products purchases and sales for Gibson’s Moose Jaw Refinery. This position will work closely with the other members of the Refined Products team to create and execute on trading and sales strategies that maximize profit for the Refined Products Marketing book.
Requirements
- Possess a university degree in Business, Economics, or related field
- Minimum 10+ years of related experience
- Trading and/or origination background in commodities is considered asset
- Knowledge of North American crude and refined products North American markets considered an asset
- Demonstrates excellent analytical and communication skills
- Demonstrates proficiency in MS Office systems
- Ability to work through complex problems and resolve them in a timely manner
- Ability to successfully manage multiple deadlines in a dynamic environment
- Ability to work independently and professionally when executing strategic transactions
- Exhibits marketing knowledge of the refined products industry
- Exhibits an understanding to quickly react to changes in the market
- Ability to generate income and manage identified risks in a team environment
- Ability to be self motivated and act as a team player
- Ability to understand concepts pertaining to asphalt, drilling fluid demand, pricing, and transportation
