The Counselor In Training Lead is responsible for providing training, supervision, and guidance to campers participating in the Counselor-in-Training progression program at Tomahawk Ranch, a Girl Scouts of Colorado camp property. This position involves designing, scheduling, and implementing a quality CIT training program for CIT 1, 2, and 3, as well as supporting the property, hospitality, operational, program, health, & cabin leadership team as needed.
Requirements
- Provide and/or support emergency procedures during on-site and off-site trip incidents.
- Provide and/or support health and wellness practices.
- Support the work of the site, kitchen, and housekeeping staff as needed.
- Assist in the care & management of program equipment, including storage, maintenance, and usage in coordination with fellow team members.
- Plan, direct, and implement leadership training program for a group of campers in the Counselor-in-Training program during the 13-day overnight camp session.
- Support and facilitate a meaningful & engaging experience for the Counselor-in-Training campers by encouraging leadership opportunities.
- Act ‘in loco parentis’, living with, and guiding a group of Counselor-in-Training campers during the 13-day overnight camp session.
- Guide and support camp staff in how they can assist and partake in creating a meaningful, safe, and appropriate experience for the CITs.
- Manage administrative responsibilities in a timely, independent, and detail-oriented manner.
- Conduct, participate, and provide support of regular staff meetings and training for planning purposes, communication resolutions, and carrying out assignments.
