Job Description
The Lead Camp Counselor is responsible for living with, guiding, and counseling a group of campers at a Girl Scouts of Colorado (GSCO) camp property, supporting and guiding a team of counselors, and carrying out camp goals. The position requires living on-site in shared housing and working non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and extended overnight periods.
Requirements
- Provide emergency procedures during on-site and off-site trip incidents
- Support health and wellness practices
- Support the work of the site, kitchen, and housekeeping staff as needed
- Assist in the care & management of program equipment
- Act 'in loco parentis' living with, and guiding a group of campers
- Support & counsel campers in daily living, camp activities, and developing peer relationships
- Guide, support, and provide leadership to a team of assigned counselors
- Manage administrative responsibilities in a timely, independent, and detail-oriented manner
