Logistics Supervisor

The Logistics Supervisor manages the local shipping, receiving, and warehouse personnel for Gleason operations and has regular interactions with internal and external stakeholders to execute daily operational requirements.

Requirements

• Manage a team of shipping & receiving clerks, material handlers, and warehouse personnel
• Responsible for hiring, development, and retention of staff
• Provide training and mentorship to staff
• Ensure open lines of communication with internal departments and staff
• Ensure safety, regulatory, and compliance measures are met
• Work with internal and external stakeholders to execute daily operational requirements
• Responsible for inbound/outbound freight and small parcel activity
• Work with Materials Manager and Trade Compliance Analyst to ensure effective transportation
• Participate in negotiations and contract management of freight-based spending
• Ensure compliance to Gleason's routing guide for inbound and outbound freight
• Work directly with UPS, FedEx, and other common carriers on shipment issues
• Coordinate with insurance providers and internal management to execute root cause/corrective action activities for freight damage
• Responsible for all material storage and retrieval within the warehouse
• Responsible for daily cycle counts and reconciliation
• Recommend and implement process improvements and cost reduction opportunities
