The Logistics Supervisor manages the local shipping, receiving, and warehouse personnel for Gleason operations and has regular interactions with internal and external stakeholders to execute daily operational requirements.
Requirements
- Manage a team of shipping & receiving clerks, material handlers, and warehouse personnel
- Responsible for hiring, development, and retention of staff
- Provide training and mentorship to staff
- Ensure open lines of communication with internal departments and staff
- Ensure safety, regulatory, and compliance measures are met
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to execute daily operational requirements
- Responsible for inbound/outbound freight and small parcel activity
- Work with Materials Manager and Trade Compliance Analyst to ensure effective transportation
- Participate in negotiations and contract management of freight-based spending
- Ensure compliance to Gleason's routing guide for inbound and outbound freight
- Work directly with UPS, FedEx, and other common carriers on shipment issues
- Coordinate with insurance providers and internal management to execute root cause/corrective action activities for freight damage
- Responsible for all material storage and retrieval within the warehouse
- Responsible for daily cycle counts and reconciliation
- Recommend and implement process improvements and cost reduction opportunities
