Job Description
GlobalFoundries is seeking a Senior Silicon Photonics Design Engineer to lead the design, simulation, and verification of advanced silicon photonic integrated circuits (PICs) for high-speed optical communication and computing applications.
Requirements
- MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Photonics, Applied Physics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in silicon photonics or integrated photonic design.
- Strong background in optical waveguides, modulators, photodetectors, and PIC integration.
- Hands-on experience with simulation tools such as Lumerical, IPKISS, Photon Design, or equivalent.
- Solid understanding of CMOS-compatible fabrication processes.
- Experience with multi-lane optical transceivers and high-speed optical links is a strong plus.
- Proven ability to take designs from concept through tape-out and measurements.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
