Lead Software Engineer, Backend

Grab is Southeast Asia's leading superapp and we are looking for passionate developers to join our team to design backend components and services, collaborate with product, business, and program management teams, and serve as a mentor to teammates.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Software Engineering or relevant major
• 7+ years designing and implementing scalable architectures using microservices
• Advanced knowledge in building high-performance systems suitable for enterprise environments
• Experience independently driving full-stack system design (requirements, technical specs, coding, rollout)
• Proven experience leading technical teams and complex, cross-team initiatives as PIC; strong mentorship track record
• Proficiency in cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and building cloud-native applications
• Experience working with distributed, cross-border teams and leading collaborative projects
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab), trunk-based workflows, and automated testing/release best practices
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) and NoSQL stores (e.g., DynamoDB, ScyllaDB)
