Graphic Packaging International is seeking a Printing Press Operator to lead the press crew in the everyday operation of the press, ensuring top quality production and exceeding customer expectations. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a similar Press Operator role and manufacturing experience, with excellent attendance and ability to work independently.
Requirements
- Setup and adjust press
- Troubleshoot and correct quality/machine problems
- Review job bag to ensure proper specifications
- Direct crews to stay on task
- Control color to proper delta E
- Ability to use densitometer
- Perform PM and minor repairs
- Work with Printing Manager to suggest potential improvements (productivity, process & quality)
- Ensure necessary color or register corrections and/or press adjustments prior to production run to meet and maintain the quality of specifications of the work
- Ability to read and follow job specifications to determine press set-up materials needed to run the job successfully
- Adjusts press machine parts, such as feeder and delivery mechanisms, suction grippers, guides, feed wheels, jogging devices, tapes, and cams, using hand tools.
- Assist in removing and replacing worn rollers and adjusting pressure between rollers of press, using hand tools.
- Wash blankets and cleans ink and ink distributing rollers and ink fountains, using ink solvent and cleaning mechanism on press.
