Senior Accountant is responsible for performing various financial and accounting activities for multiple plant sites, including preparing and analyzing financial statements, maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts, and assisting in the month-end and year-end closing processes.
Requirements
- Assist the monthly financial close process, including preparation, review and approval of journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statements, and overhead reporting.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal control requirements, and company accounting policies.
- Assist with plant-level budgeting activities, including operating budgets, capital budgets, financial forecasts, and cash flow projections.
- Oversee inventory accounting, cost accounting, and job costing processes, including analysis of material, labor, and overhead variances.
- Analyze and report product line and project-level profitability to plant and corporate management.
- Develop, track, and communicate key financial and operational performance metrics to support informed decision-making.
- Collaborates across finance, operations, and engineering to evaluate capital investments, support continuous improvement, and provide analysis that informs plant performance and strategic decisions.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation, responding to inquiries, and driving resolution of audit findings and recommendations.
- Perform ad hoc reports and additional accounting duties, as needed, to support the team.
