Job Description
Underwrites real estate loans, evaluates credit worthiness, and ensures compliance with federal and state requirements. Communicates decisions and ensures fair lending practices. Performs second reviews of underwritten denials, evaluates credit reports, property inspections, and financial information. Maintains knowledge of secondary mortgage market activity and industry practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or related discipline preferred
- Minimum 3 years of first mortgage underwriting experience
- Minimum 5 years of industry experience from a bank, credit union, or mortgage company
- Familiarity with commercial real estate is a plus
