Job Description
Full Time day shift Oncology Nurse Navigator position for Medical Oncology at Lourdes Hospital. The Oncology Nurse Navigator helps patients diagnosed with cancer navigate through the Guthrie health system to improve patient experience and quality of care.
Requirements
- Education: Graduate of an Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) accredited nursing program.
- Licenses: Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of position.
- Specialty certification is recommended as soon as the RN is eligible.
- A minimum of 4 yearsâ experience in nursing, possess a functional knowledge of cancer diagnosis and treatment, and demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to educate and coordinate care for patients.
- Supports patient from diagnosis throughout treatment during entire cancer care continuum.
- Triage calls to the hematology/oncology office from patients.
- Participates in community outreach programs and activities.
- Assists patients in obtaining the required referrals, outside studies or second opinions.
- Other duties as assigned.
